Sorry I haven't had time to make the proper announce about this topic or
document it. The DSN format supports now a new format more flexible than
the old one. This is:
driver(syntax)://user:password@protocol(proto_opts)/database
In the mysql case for connecting with sockets use:
mysql://user:pass@unix(/path/to/socket)/db
Also the new format supports now non standar ports for the mysql driver:
mysql://user:pass@tcp(localhost:5555)/db
