IMHO this move is premature. These were part of several previous PHP
releases and there is no clear documentation on how to install the pear
packages that are not part of PHP distro. Try downloading Log of the pear
site for example.
Plus at was under the impression that there was going to be a set of core
classes that are always going to be bundled with php. Sort of php standard
class library. Maybe we should wait until we decide which parts of pear
constitute the core library.
