Dmitry Sheiko (http://pear.php.net/user/dsheiko) has commented on the proposal for PHP::AOP Library
for PHP.
Comment:
There are two samples. The first one demonstrates the realization of
performance monitoring by means of AOPHP. The second one shows how to
create a debugging trace.
In fact, we define _before() and _after() functions for each method and
pass the aspect object pointer. It is inconvenient, but PHP doesnt allow
for anything more. However, as you can see in the examples, it is enough to
define pointcut functions in the business logic outside and assign them to
certain methods of business logic. If we need throughout functionality in
the future, we just specify its new functions. We don't need to modify
business logic.
