Image class

Hi, Is there some interest in a basic image manipulating/generating class? I've written such a class(in fact it's not complete). Other classes for manipulating/creating images could use this one as base class. If there is some interest, I also would like to know, how I could use a std. path to the ttf-files under unix. I'm currently using windows (don't hurt me ;-)), and don't know, which path to use. /usr/share/fonts/TrueType/ ? /usr/share/fonts/ttf/ ? Unix uses the same extension (.ttf), doesn't it?
