We have patched our DSSL stylesheet some time ago in order to make
this work. Please have a look at
http://cvs.php.net/diff.php/peardoc/html-common.dsl.in?ws=0&r1=1.2&r2=1.3
&ty=u
to see the diff of the changes to html-common.dsl. I don't have
any idea how to apply that to the XSL version of Docbook, but
perhaps it helps you a bit.
Short explanation: The stylesheet basically transforms all
<programlisting role="php"> into <pre class="php"> in the
HTML version. colorize.php then grabs them and highlights
the content between this tag.
