A really long time ago there was an informal voting if UK or US English
should be used in the PEAR manual. The outcome of the voting was to use
US English there. I think it makes sense to do the same in the code.
(To be honest, I don't think this is a big issue, and I strongly believe
that you won't run into problems if you use whatever dialect you like
best, as long as a majority of people can understand it.)
