I am looking for people interested in joining development of MDB2_Schema. The package works quite nicely as it is, but it could use some API related improvements. Currently a lot of the methods do too much at once. For example updateDatabase() has all sorts of logic inside that users may or may not need in this combination. The same applies to methods like dumpDatabase(). It could also use some more improvements in flexibility. Like finally finishing up the ability to load different parsers and writers.
I have begun cleaning things up a bit. Mainly I removed the $database_definition property. Now you need to explictly pass around the array database definition. This should make things more flexible and less magical. I also made some changes to the null handling (in MDB2 as well). This means that an empty string will be interpreted as NULL if the column is nullable and '' if its not. Not perfect but seemed to me like a decent compromise. Since I refactored the API quite a bit I am sure there are some issues here and there. I did run the test suite, ran the LiveUser installer and dumped a large database. But there might be little bugs now. So any MDB2_Schema user should take a look that things are still working for them as well as checking if the API changes make sense to them. regards, Lukas
