forgot to give an example. but it's anyway straightforward:
$db = DB::connect($dsn);
$result = $db->query("select * from test");
$xml = $result->getxml();
then
$xml = '<?xml version="1.0"?>
<result>
<row ID="1">
<id>1</id>
<title>Testtitle</title>
</row>
<row ID="2">
<id>2</id>
<title>secondtitle</title>
</row>
</result>'
