I was thinking a little in the things I would like to see in the pear
web. Here is my wishlist:
* package-info.php
- Show statistics about the package (views, release downloads).
- Show a link to the correct pear manual page (it would need to have
standar file names in the pear manual)
- Add related info box editable by the author. Something like a list of
title, link and description entries.
* packages.php
Unify and beautify the packages list. I think there is no need to have
different pages for search and list. The pager stuff should be added
also.
* release-upload.php
Automatic email the full anounce of the new release to pear-general (and
pear-dev?). I think this is important, we have already the web working
but if people still doesn't get informed about changes and new release
we will stay in the same point as today.
* package-recents.php
A time line of packages published, something like the Recent List in the
index, but with the full list.
* php4/pear/PEAR/Common.php
Ensure that the package.xml file has the minimal data required
* Multiple packages support
Ability to make and distribute special packages containing many packages
(useful for distributing a PEAR Core package or "this package and all
its dependencies")
* Credits
- Add the licence and authors standar header inside the source code of
all the pear web files.
- Create a cool credits page with photos and easter eggs.
* PEAR Decision Maker section (someone remember my Pear Comitee
proposal? ;-)
* Full site localization with the PEAR I18N class
* Reset the DB and kill the requirement of the ?devme cookie
Just some food for the spared guys who thinks that there is no more
things to do in the pear web :-)
