i dont mean intentionally overwriting any of those parameters
what do you think about simply adding an array in the dsn, which is
i.e. named "parameters" which contains those additional parameters
that are added to the url?
so you would have
'phptype'
'dbsyntax'
'username'
'password'
'protocol'
'hostspec'
'port'
'socket'
'database'
AND _new_ would be
'parameters'
