FYI, I'm the package maintainer of Net_Sieve and I'm also the FreeBSD
port maintainer of it.
I'm having a problem getting Net_Sieve to install properly on FreeBSD
when using the package.xml 2.0 format. The package.xml is in the 2.0
format and "pear install" and "pear uninstall" work fine as per the
PEAR release procedure. The problem is that FreeBSD uses "pear
install -r package.xml" to install the package.
The procedure on FreeBSD:
- Download package file
- Verify the MD5 and SHA256 checksums of the downloaded file against
the locally saved checksums.
- Extract the package files
- run "pear install -r package.xml" on the extracted package files
Also all of the above is handled by FreeBSD's php/pear install
infrastructure, so what the port part that I maintain pretty much
just specifies the file to download and the checksums.
This seems to generate an incorrect net_sieve.reg file. I can't seem
to figure out where the problem exists. My feeling is that the "pear
install -r package.xml" isn't valid for 2.0 version files. I have
attached a diff of a good net_sieve.reg (pear install) vs. a bad
net_sieve.reg (pear install -r). Any suggestions?
