Hi all,
I am proposing Net_URL_Mapper
<http://pear.php.net/pepr/pepr-proposal-show.php?id=428>
It's a package that will make dealing with URLs and mapping URLs with
application logic easy. It's built on the concept of Friendly URLs as explained
here : http://www.merges.net/theory/20010305.html
That's something you probably already all know since it's all the rage with Ruby
on Rails and other frameworks. For PEAR, I wanted to do something really usable
in any existing or to exist application. So there is no notion of controller or
action, even if it can be added very easily. Dealing with URL match results is
left to the developer.
There is no code to be seen yet since I am currently writting it, but I am
interested in your opinions on the concept of having such a package in PEAR.
I personally think this could be one more reason why people would continue to
prefer PEAR to other all-in-one solutions.
TIA
