One concern I have is that all mysql-specific sets are converted into simple text fields. If there is a way to tell MDB2_Schema to use a set type when installing to a mysql database, that would be very good to know. Otherwise, I'll go through the code and make sure that we are validating input properly in places where it may have relied upon the database constraints to catch errors.
SET/ENUM are currently not supported in MDB2_Schema. They could be supported for MySQL via custom datatypes. For ENUMs it would be nice to one day support CHECK constraints. SET is sort of un-relational. Then again array support is now part of the standard. Anyways for now the only solution would be to move the necessary logic to the PHP code.
Can you point me to the docs for custom datatypes? I was trying to find that earlier and failed.
there is nothing in the official docs yet: http://pooteeweet.org/blog/413 regards, Lukas
