I installed PEAR on a shared host while trying out a database program called PHPFIN. I now want to REMOVE Pear completely because I don't need it, but when I try to delete the files using FTP I get "PERMISSION DENIED". I have searched though numerous forums and FAQ lists and I cannot find the answer I need! What is the process required to completely remove PEAR and ALL the remaining files from my shared host?Nothing to do with PEAR itself. The problem is that you installed via the web server which is running as a different user. Either write a script to rmeove them or use the web installer to uninstall the packages or ask your host to delete or change ownership on the files for you. -- Justin Patrin
