PEAR_PackageFile_v2_rw::addSubpackageDepWithChannel() PEAR_PackageFile_v2_rw::addGroupPackageDepWithChannel() but -for instance- how can I set the hint? Is there an example I can follow?

Here's an example: http://www.php-tools.net/svn/patForms/trunk/package.php You have to init the group using addDependencyGroup().
