Finally we didn't reach any agreement :-) Richard's class is focused in
paginate arrays and provide helpers methods for building the HTML. My
approach is sighly different, as DB_Pager is focused in databases and in
giving extensive information to the developer about the pager (out of
any representation).
Now Pear DB supports row limit (much more efficient), so the "database"
part of the DB_Pager is no longer needed. For ex:
$res = $db->limitQuery($sql, $from, $limit);
while ($res->fetchInto($row)) {
...
}
In the X future I'll change DB_Pager to help more the developer in the
tasks of creating different types of pagination and if I see that I can
provide some helper methods flexible enough to meet the design
requierements I'll do it also.
