Captcha installation failed

I ran a pear install Text_CAPTCHA and got this error:
Failed to download pear/Text_CAPTCHA within preferred state "stable", latest release is
version 0.2.1, stability "alpha", use
"channel://pear.php.net/Text_CAPTCHA-0.2..1" to install
Cannot initialize 'Text_CAPTCHA', invalid or missing package file
Package "Text_CAPTCHA" is not valid
install failed
Any ideas?Thanks.
ps: I've also tried manually but could not find the file Password.php in the archive.
