I'm still having this problem. Attempting to debug the problem, I see that
go-pear.php connects to
http://cvs.php.net/viewcvs.cgi/pear-core/PEAR.php?view=co&pathrev=RELEASE_1_3_6,
which returns the same error as the one I'm getting.
http://cvs.php.net/viewcvs.cgi/pear-core/ works just fine, so I'm thinking
that maybe some of the parameters to the URL are invalid. Unfortunately,
I'm not sure what the parameters ought to be, and even if I did, it still
seems I'm doing something wrong, since, obviously, not everyone is getting
that same error...

I'm trying to install PEAR and am having some difficulty doing so. I download PHP 4.4.4, type in "go-pear.bat" at the command line, and after a while, get this: Bootstrapping: PEAR...............(remote) <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" " http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml " xml:lang="en" lang="en"> <<!-- ViewVC :: http://www.viewvc.org/ --> <head> <title>ViewVC Exception</title> </head> <body> <h3>An Exception Has Occured</h3> <h4>Python Traceback</h4> ...and so on and so forth. I later get this: Downloading package: PHPUnit.............ok Fatal error: Undefined class name 'pear' in C:\php\PEAR\go-pear.php on line 747 Press any key to continue . . . Any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong?
