A mass disconnect of people from #pear occurred a few minutes ago, leaving
it with no one but me. I assumed this meant no one that joined could become
channel operators, so I disconnected myself and tried to go back in
(thinking first on in is automatic operator). Now I can't get on at all, so
I assume this means only certain people can "launch" the #pear channel.
I wanted to make sure everyone knew this in case they were also trying to
get in and getting "channel not available" like I am.
