Hello all, I have a question about including a dll file in my config.w32. Using a library it works fine, such as CHECK_LIB("libexample.lib", "example", PHP_EXAMPLE) However, my question is, how do you include a dll file for linking instead of linking a library? Thanks! Tom That "lib" file you see could be a static library (traditionally .a in the nix world), or it could be a "stub" library that tells windows how to link against a dll (so in the nix world). There is no difference in naming between the two (thank you microsoft).
You don't "link" against a dll directly, that's how windows works, it requires a "stub" library to know how to link against the dll. You can generate these "stub" libraries if you just have the dll by creating a def file and using lib.exe - the mingw site has some resources on how to do this. Oh, and this should be on the pecl.dev mailing list - pear is a separate project. Thanks, Elizabeth Smith
