The "rtag" command is specifically for performing something against the
repository module in CVS without needing a checked-out copy of it. So, I
assume the only reason the instructions tell you to "cd" into the "Net_FTP"
directory is so that your CVSROOT will implicitly point to the CVS
repository using the CVS subdirectory in your checked-out copy of Net_FTP.
Since "rtag" does not assume you are in a checked-out sandbox, you still
have to give the module name in your command. So, it should be something
like:
- cvs rtag -b -r RELEASE_1_3_4 MAINT_1_3_4 *Net_FTP*
although that module name might need to be *pear/Net_FTP* (I've not done
enough direct CVS stuff with the PEAR CVS beyond co/up/ci to remember for
sure).
But again, the short answer is that the "rtag" command requires the CVS
module name you want the branch created on.
