For those of you interested in testing the package, or may have encountered errors when testing the
package, I fixed the tests to run with the latest version of phpunit. You can now download the
package latest release: Console_GetoptPlus-0.2.1.tgz from http://sourceforge.net/projects/cons-getoptplus
.
Root cause:
The tests_GetoptPlus_ExceptionTest class was using the $exception private property which clashed
with the same protected property in the extended PHPUnit_Framework_TestCase. This was not an issue
with phpunit 3.0.6 which I was using until recently. This became a problem with the latest phpunit
release 3.2.11. Interestingly, this property was a left-over from tests that have been long since
removed, so it just had to be removed it for the test to run.
Thanks to Till for spotting the issue.
Maybe, the protected properties of phpunit classes designed to be
extended could be renamed so those names would not be obvious ones such as
$exception. Just an idea.
