Thank you for your advice. So I wish to create a new package Net_UserAgent_Mobile2 and to do the plan as the following. * Revert the last changes in CVS. * Create Net_UserAgent_Mobile2 in CVS. * Release Net_UserAgent_Mobile 1.0.0. * Release Net_UserAgent_Mobile2 0.1.0. Is there anything I should do about starting to develop Net_UserAgent_Mobile2 in CVS? Regards, -- KUBO Atsuhiro e-mail: kubo@iteman.jpYes, technically you may change BC. In this case I would not do this, since the package is pretty old/mature and I believe quite some applications are using it. Changing it to PHP5 would break the php4 ones. You don't need to change the name - just going up to version 2.0.0 is enough (IMO).You are aware that this requires you to release a new major version of the package?I've read the following documents[1][2], I may be mistaken but it seems that BC break is allowed in this case, since this package has not been released as "stable" once. Is it still true that migration to PHP 5 requires a new version name with a new package name such as Net_UserAgent_Mobile2 0.1.0?
