I suggest something like this: $s3 = Services_Amazon_S3::getAccount($accessKeyId, $secretAccessKey); $s3->charset = 'UTF-8'; $bucket = $s3->getBucket('blåbærgrød'); However, it would be preferable if all packages dealt with this issue in a uniform way.
