Dear friends,
My graduation thesis would be about portable databases in XML files,
that is, mainly PEAR::MDB2_Schema. Besides getting into the main point
I would have to discuss about what's around it: PHP, PEAR, MDB2, other
similar tools and the state of the art on that matter.
I am trying to figure out whether i can write that thesis in the
english language. i have already asked some professors and they told
me it was never done before in my university. so i have to check that
with the university rules.
if i get a positive answer i hope it can be a good thing for our
community. i plan to include pear installation / usage / config
advanceds among other interesting things. maybe nothing that wasn't
said before, maybe only a bit more. anyone it will be a new document
talking about PEAR which brings a little more attention to our
community.
@Lukas: your thesis might be a good reference for me. at least the
structure of the document. it seems your site is offline ?
@David: maybe DB_Table can be a good candidate for a similar tool ?
are you willing to help on the chapter about it / have some advice ?
@Helgi / PEAR Group / PEAR Docs or anyone else: is it ok to copy some
parts of the manual (keeping the reference) ? how should that be done
?
if anyone else have an idea for some different topics in that subject,
suggestions are more than welcome. If you can help writing and/or
reviewing and/or discussing things you are also more than welcome.
regards,
iGor.
