Role_Datapdl

Hello all, For one of my applications that are distributed over a pear channel I needed a way to install files into $data_dir/myApp/, but from an extension package (myApp_mod_Foo). role="data" by default uses a package-specific data directory, $data_dir/packageName/. In my case, this wasn't feasible. The result is Role_Datapdl (data - package data less) which is available on zustellzentrum.cweiske.de. Other (helgi) people (izi) already showed interest; it could even be used for pearweb once that's split up into several packages. Now the question: - Is the role the only way to achieve my goal? - Could that go into pear-core? - If not, I'd propose it as a normal pear package. -- Regards/Mit freundlichen Grüßen Christian Weiske
