Hey all,
The next bug triage day is on Sun May 4 according to the google calendar.
What do we want to focus on?
- Really Old Bugs
- Packages with lots of bugs (Spreadsheet_Excel_Writer / SOAP are two
bigger / unloved ones)
- Really New Bugs (I've been trying to stomp on some of these
reasonably frequently)
- Picking one/two packages, writing 10 billion tests, and filing
quality reports when things break unexpectedly
- Bugs with existing patches
- Packages with dormant maintainers
Does anyone have any preferences or ideas not listed here?
My preference would be focusing on bugs / minor change requests with
existing patches - if not May 4th, some bug triage day soon!
I mean, there's a lot of bugs floating around with patches; and if you
have bothered to write a patch and stick it on a bug, even if its dead
wrong, it's good to hear people are paying attention.
If it does nothing else, it'll mean we're more likely to gain more
quality bug reports, contributions, etc in the future from those
submitters.
Worth noting, it's a lot easier to write a test when someone's told
you what's broken in no uncertain terms.
