I have done a bit of work on a PEAR2 Date package, but not enough to be released. As anyone who's looked at DB lately will know, unfortunately I've been just a bit short on spare time to work on PEAR of late. I'd be happy to help out with a new version of Date, though, regardless of whether it's PEAR or PEAR2. (At the time I started it, PEAR2 looked a bit closer than it really seems to be.)
You can add code to the subversion repos and pyrus can install packages so it can be used for new developments :) Arnaud.
