So so so, it's this time of the year again isn't it? So my subject
said it all I guess. I'd like to announce that I am going to present
myself as the successor of last year's PEAR President, Gregory Beaver.
Let's get on to business quickly so it's over faster. I am and have
been a member of last year's PEAR Group, I'm have been an important
and active PEAR contributor for the past few years (as well as an
evangelist), I work on the core of PHP (thus very present with the
internals), I have been mentor for the PHP Project in Google Summer of
Code for the past years, I work on various other open source projects
but first and foremost I am passionate about PHP. As most of you know,
I usually do not start something unless I'm very interested and those
same people know that I am a hard worker. When there's work to be
done, I do it and I do it well.
I have good relationships with most people and when we do not have
good relationships, it's usually cleared out the same day. I do not
like to leave things hanging and people wondering. I know how PEAR
works, I have been a Group member, I have done some politics and I
know what to do when issues come up.
This year is going to be a big year for PEAR in Europe as I will be
attending most conferences and I'd love to be the PEAR figure to give
a great image to the PEAR Community and the attract more skilled
developers in the PEAR family.
Remember that I am not only there to "preside" but also to help, if
you need anything or have any questions, I'll be there to help you the
best I can.
I'd like to say thanks to last year's other PEAR Group members and the
PEAR President and I'd like to mention that this has been a great
year. Good work lads, we have done some tremendous work.
Thanks again for your support and votes,
David
