Hello All,
While version 1.7.1 was planned to be released today to fix the important bug 13873 [1], Matt Beale (author of bug report) let me think about PCI (PHP_CompatInfo) usage.
If you parse a single file, or a little directory, you've probably no need to wait a long time, and result is shown almost immediatly.
But if, as Matt did, you parse a full distribution (with lot of files and directories), you should have to wait a long time ... And probably ask "is my process still running or not ?"
So, as a maintainer of the HTML progress bar solution, I've tought to implement the really cool PEAR::Console_ProgressBar [2] solution [3] of Stefan Walk.
Default render will show something like :
- 79/419 files [====>-----------------] 18.85% Elapsed Time: 00:28.93
Then erased, and replaced by final results.
But you'll have also the ability to customize your progress bar as you want.
Examples and core package files will be commit in few hours (this afternoon, for European).
And I'll release the 1.8.0RC1 tomorrow (May 18) with this content :
- bug fix 13873
- support of error_reporting constant E_RECOVERABLE_ERROR introduced with PHP 5.2.0
- a progress bar (customizable) on CLI
