Kinda. I think it's fair to say that when software makes it difficult
to do something, if by design or by accident, people get molded by
that negative feedback to a degree.

Yes, yes; absolutely - social skills / time management would solve
those problems. And if through certain UI design choices or the way
features are put together we can encourage good time management /
politeness; that's a positive outcome.
Mainly I'm rambling here so if there's a design choice to be made at
some point; there's a background story to draw upon, and maybe the
choice will fall towards "encouraging friendly user iteraction > add
red button of to send GTFO email".
