The documentation is outdated, since there have been some changes
to the installer code. You now have to do
$ cvs co php4
$ cd php4
$ ./configure
$ make install-data-local install-programs install-build
to build the pear script.

Uhm? Could you explain that a bit more detailed.

Dependencies will be noted in package.xml and they will be taken
into account by the web site and by the installer script.

most arrogant fool around here? If you don't like PEAR or think we
are too lazy, just go and play elsewhere - we simply don't have
enough time to waste it with people like you.
