For Chiara_PEAR_Server, I created a package with some simple scripts
that remotely upload a release to the server ---
Salty_PEAR_Server_RemoteReleaseDeployer. With this I just have an icon
I drag and drop my releases on and it uploads it to my channel. Some
others have built phing tasks using this to release the software as
well.

SimpleChannelServer is very new... and doesn't require any database to
be present. It only handles building the xml files - there is no HTML
frontend or management. --- It requires PEAR2, which is in alpha right
now.

A getting started Doc on Pyrus (the next version of the PEAR installer) is here:

Welcome to the PEAR software distribution way. :-)
