Auth_PrefManager2 is a dead package, has been since the original
developer dropped it back in 2004. I got assigned as the lead to it
when I took over Auth_PrefManager. I however have no plans to salvage
the Auth_PrefManager2 code it doesn't meet any of the PHP coding
standards and as far as I can tell has never worked for anything other
than the ini file backend. I have some designs for a PHP5 version of
it when we actually get that channel, but I'm not going to waste me
time rewritting the current mess so it works.
Actually for Auth_PrefManager2 I plan to base it off Config2, making
it just glue between Auth2 and some config storage backend.

This is something I really want to see. I have a first cut of Auth2
working with all its objecty PHP5 goodness. Was all done more than a
year ago (PEAR2 was all soonish then) and still waiting.
