Oliver,
I am a member of the PEAR-QA team and am emailing you because you are
listed as the lead developer of the genealogy_Gedcom package.
I can't help but notice when looking at the list of open bugs and
requests logged against Genealogy_Gedcom that there are seven of these
with some
open since July 2007. You can view the list at
http://pear.php.net/bugs/search.php?cmd=display&package_name[]=Genealogy_Gedcom&status=All
I'm also aware of the email sent by Brett Bieber on 20 July this year,
over six weeks ago, asking for lead developers to transition their
packages to use version two
of package.xml before September 1st; otherwise QA "will assume the
un-updated packages to be orphaned and will update the package.xml
file(s). If you would like to request that QA not update your package
after September 1st 2008, please send a note to pear-qa." We have not
yet received an email from you regarding this to the QA mailing list.
Is it your intention to orphan the Gedcom package? If so I would like
to not only perform the required QA procedures (converting the
package.xml to version two at a minimum) but to also take over
maintainership of the package and develop it further.
Have you any objections to my doing so?
regards
Ken
I would prefer to receive explicit permisson from you to do so
