Hi,
Well it sort of standard for "meta" DB .. since this db abstraction
layer also adds meta data handling in the form of abstracted schema
support
The name was actually a suggestion from Stig and I thought it was a good
idea since "metapear" did not seem to fit the other package names all
too good.
I don't know how this might change in the future, since "MDB" is planned
to replace PEAR DB _ONCE_ it becomes stable, performant, PEAR CS and
PEAR DB backward compatible.
