The tag specifies the package name (which must be available from the channel itself) and the package name must be the same as the class name, with the file located in package name with _ replaced to \ (like normal). You can specify the version of the package needed as well. The class must extend PEAR_Validate, much as PEAR_Validate_PECL extends PEAR_Validate, and can override any of the behavior, but is not used to do things like handle file roles/tasks. Its sole purpose is to verify that the package is in fact valid and can be installed successfully. Hope this helps. Greg
