Some good places to start might be: 1. Find your favorite or most used packages and checking if they have open bugs. If so: improve the quality of the bug reports, write unit tests or provide patches. 2. Get to know the community - subcribe to pear-dev and find us on irc.efnet.org #pear 3. Take a look at open general tasks we've got : http://wiki.php.net/pear/qa/bug_triage/2009-02-07 - if you can help out there, woo!
