snapshot version naming

When I build nightly snapshots with "pear package", I put "snapshot" in
the package.xml ...<stability><release>snapshot</release>... element.
What should I put in the ...<version><release>???</release>... element?
I found this document which describes PEAR version naming,

- however it doesn't mention snapshots...
