Hi all,
First,
I would like to thanks, *Till*, *Michael* and *Daniel* to have comment my previous proposal named RFC::PEAR_TestListener, that is now "dead" (removed by myself).
Even if version 0.2.0 was not marvellous, and let me a bitter taste, I'd like to keep ability to used PHPUnit switches even when calling a test suite directly with the PHP interpreter.
php /path/to/unit/test/suite.php
For example:
php /path/to/unit/test/suite.php --filter myTest
I've finally found a solution without add/inject PHPUnit code source as it was with 0.2.0
One tip + a test runner later and I'm almost ready to propose a new version (0.3.0)
Second,
It's not yet finished, because I have to implement a feature that I'm pretty sure you'll like it, but you can have a first look on draft available at [1] (with classes and examples source code explained).
Imagine you have just to run your test suite with only one command :
php /path/to/unit/test/suite.php --configure xmlfile
YES the same swith as PHPUnit
And with your XML file you can configure all your loggers (PEAR::Log handlers) and listeners (as planned for PHPUnit 3.4 see changelog [2], search for [3])
Freedom either to
- code, as in basic and complex examples provided behind link [1],
- or to use the external XML configuration file.
A dream could become a reality !
All features are not presented here (remember its a proposal introduction still in draft) but I hope you will already enjoy what was done, improved since previous version 0.2.0 in category RFC.
I have in mind to suggest PEAR_TestListener as a new package rather than a simple RFC (to improve PEAR QA and test suites)
We will see sooner if you like or not the project.
I will let you discover now the new PEAR_TestListener 0.3.0
Please visit link [1].
And if you have already feedback to give (bad or good); don't hesitated to contact me. I promise to hear you again
Regards
Laurent Laville
