Requisites to add new rule to Text_Wiki

Hi Justin, as you know I'm working on a Mediawiki to Tikiwiki importer using Text_Wiki package. Both Mediawiki and Tikiwiki have a syntax for wiki page redirect and this is not in the list of default rules of Text_Wiki. I would like to know if it is better to add this as a specific rule for Mediawiki and Tikiwiki or as a Text_Wiki default rule. I think that the more generic question here is if there is any criteria to define which are the Text_Wiki default rules? Thank you, Rodrigo. Ps: I also would like to know the difference between the rules strong - bold and emphasis - italic.
