Hello Christian,
Hello Laurent,Sorry but I disagree with you. First there are no 500 developers to contact, if we follow link given by Daniel [1] I've counted only 163 packages that need to migrate from package xml 1.0 to 2.0 And in this same list, I've counted 46 where you have an answer: That means (a little substract) you have only 117 packages to migrate. Are you really 117 leaders who have not replied. I don't think so. Of course, I agree with you that you have to post a general mail on PEAR dev mailing list, but when you got no answer, perharps that mean, either : - leader missed the request post - forget the request post - leader decided to unsubsribe to mailing list After all, the system send us a reminder for bug and request. Is is not a mail send ? [1] http://wiki.php.net/pear/packages/migrationIf there are so many package in XML 1.0, that means probably that authors do not read anymore the pear-dev mailing list. PEAR Group should use an alternate solution. Contact first all author by mail. And if they don't respond in an acceptable time limit (1 month) than consider them as inactive and PEAR-QA team may do what they want. That will avoid such surprise !Contacting 500+ developers personally is not an option, sorry. We do have mailing lists for that, and PEAR developers should be subscribed to pear-dev - because that is the point where most communication happens, and where important information are passed through.
