Mail was down after reboot of pear.php.net - selinux expert wanted

Hi all, After the hang/crash of pear.php.net and the reboot, the mail system hang. Mails could not get out because of iptable rules. Adding new iptable rules to /etc/sysconfig/ fails because of some really strange permission denied errors - so I have to manually specify the rules after each reboot. Expect a flood of mails coming from pear.php.net in the next hours! If here is someone with experience in SElinux, please contact me.
