Does file locking work too? What about "pear list-installed"? I did a deep checking. Locking can't work on Win98/Me, because flock uses LockFileEx.
This function is only supported by WinNT/2000/XP. Two possibilities: - deactivate locking on Win98/ME (should be no problem, nobody would run a multi-user server on them :-) - change implementation of flock to use LockFile() which is avaible on Win98/Me
