Hello Laurent,
By the way the sticky tag message on PEAR:Net_Growl page [3] is not really correct "This package is not maintained,", because I continue to work on its new versions.
Nice to hear from you again, Laurent! I updated the package data, marked the package as maintained again and you as active.
Hello All, Related to latest version 2.0.0RC1 Source code and examples are now up-to-date on my webpage http://growl.laurent-laville.org/ Bertrand, I've pick up your growl PEAR Error example ==> see appendix B2. Hello Christian, I will certainly disapointed you, but I don't think to update PEAR repository content. Here are my point of view, that if I'm not wrong, is not the way of PEAR standard. First: - name of package and version The new branch 2 is a full rewrites to PHP5, but I keep the name of original package and I don't want to rename it to Net_Growl2 My reason is simple. If we follow the version naming X.Y.Z where X stand for major version (API break BC) Y stand for minor and Z for bug only. Why create a new package, that is responsible of confusion in end-user mind. I see what is was done in past with HTML_Progress and HTML_Progress2 There are no reason to continue to use HTML_Progress in theory, but it's not the case in real world (still more 4200 downloads) Version 1.2.6 that was just a QA release (see detail in changelog [1]) Compare to HTML_Progress2 2.4.1 with 4800 download I don't want to create a new confusion in mind with Net_Growl. Second: - Even if latest version 2.0.0RC1 is ready for production (especially with encryption message features), there is no Unit-test suite available. I just have in mind (and free time) to write a user doc for final stable version. That's all [1] http://pear.php.net/package/HTML_Progress/download/1.2.6
