Ah neat; thanks for the input.
Since Services_Atlassian_Crowd is pretty actively maintained, a bunch of
patches against the SVN version might not hurt to make review easier.
That being said, Luca's looking into things - if you are interested in the
package and developing it futher; perhaps you and he should chat about
becoming a maintainer.
