Hello Remi, As I'm also french , you can contact me directly by mail in our mother language, it will be more easy (and will avoid misunderstood) I agree that RC2 is not yet ready for stable status : My roadmap is : - Fix unit test suites and add more test cases - Add a real user guide (full documentation, as I did in past for all others of my packages / contributions) Some quick answers : - I will keep this version on my own channel ( source on github ) for many reasons aready explained in past on this mailing list - It could be cool to have it on PEAR (due to success of this package), but I hope to have same success with this major version (rewritten) if users send feedback - phpcompatinfo.xml.dist file is the default configuration file if you don't have your own one (phpcompainfo.xml, or any other name you should specify with --configuration switch) - all roles are changes, because I've decided with RC2 to not overwrite previous installation (of version 1.x) as it was with RC1. Laurent "A ton écoute", and to all others we will like to contribute to make PHP_CompatInfo 2 a new success Le 25/02/2011 09:44, Remi Collet a écrit :
Hi, I maintains PHP_CompatInfo 1.x in fedora. This package is really usefull for package reviewer to check package dependencies. So I start looking at this new version First a question: Do you plan to keep this package in your channel ? or will it goes to pear standard one ? Some quick notes. *** 1 test fails : 1) PHP_CompatInfo_IssueTest::testBug16302 --- Expected +++ Actual @@ @@

*** No documentation Could you provide (in the tarball) - a LICENSE file (quite easy) - a phpci man page Both are required for "good" package (not mandatory, but heartly required) *** Test suite Tests are marked as role="php" so are installed under $(pear config-get php_dir)/PHPCI/tests Shoudn't you set role="test", so will be installed under $(pear config-get test_dir)/PHP_CompatInfo *** phpcompatinfo.xml.dist What is this file ? (seems to be a default configuration file) Should it really be installed under $(pear config-get bin_dir) ? In fact, as its name is ..dist, it will never be used (so don't need to be installed, perhaps provided as "doc") The role="data" seems to be a better solution. So PHP/CompatInfo/CLI.php probably need to be fixed to search in this path : $(pear config-get data_dir) I continue my test and will probably ask you more. Remi.
