I am annoyed that to get rid of warnings I have to patch PEAR, eg:
if I call:
PEAR::isError()
I get the warning:
Strict Standards: Non-static method PEAR::isError() should not be called statically in ...
This can easily be fixed in PEAR.php line 273 by adding 'static':
static function isError($data, $code = null)
This I do on my own systems.
However that will break on PHP4 & I note that line 7 says:
* PHP versions 4 and 5
Can we not forget PHP 4 -- it died in 2008 ? This would encourage those with ancient
systems to upgrade. PHP5 has been out since 2004. If you really want to support PHP4 put
it somewhere else - give those using PHP4 a bit of pain rather than making life hard for
the rest of us.
