Hi Markus, Peter, Bertrand, and anybody interested in the DataGrid class !!!
First of all,
I have just discovered PEAR a week ago (never too late), so I would like
to apologize in advance for my ignorance on the subject.
I have been obviously following the PEAR mailing lists to get familiar
with the libraries and terms, but there is lot to learn
I hope I'll be able to contribute one day to the great work you guys did
so far, and the Datagrid seems like a good opportunity as it is something
I am very likely to use in the near future.
Following this thread I gather there are (at least) two possibilities to
implement
such a class :
1 - Template base.
2 - Object based like so (more or less) :
....
$DBGrid->sql='select * from users';
$DBGrid->columns('name','login','telephone','fax')
...
$DBGrid->display;
$DBGrid->close;
I 'll have to look more into the tools mentioned by Bertrand (ITX,
HTML_Table, QuickForm)
so what would be the advantages of one over the other ?
Again, sorry for the possibly silly question(s), but I'll hope I 'll be able
to contribute soon.
Regards,
Guillaume
