Lukas, To fix the problem of MDB installing the root of the pear dir, your package should have the following change: ... <dir name="/" baseinstalldir="MDB"> ... Check the package.dtd (or package.xsd) in pear/XML_DTD/tests for more details on what elements/attributes should be used in package.xml You will also have to fix some of your files to include from that dir, e.g.: require_once "MDB/MDB.php"; require_once "MDB/common.php"; etc. Installing on the root dir is not good. As PHP does not have namespaces, a directory approach is needed to avoid conflicts among classes/files names.
